BENTO rolls up another Sushi Champion

As Canada’s largest sushi company, Bento is continuing to lead the way in food innovation and associate engagement. Bento hosted its fourth annual Sushi Champion Competition on May 7th, at George Brown College, where six contestants competed for the title of Sushi Champion, and for the honour of launching their winning roll in market in September. Bento’s Sushi Champion Competition demonstrates the company’s commitment to its 1,300 innovative chefs across North America, and to finding the next best sushi recipe for its loyal consumers.

Toronto’s talented chefs and food industry leaders, Anthony Davis (Director of Category Management and Merchandising, Sobey’s), Elizabeth Rivasplata (Executive Chef, ARAMARK Roger’s Centre), Nobu Yamada (Owner, Kobo Gourmet Japanese Restaurant & Kobu Nobu Japanese Cookhouse) and John Hashimoto (Director of Product Development, Bento Sushi) presided over the judge’s panel, tasting and scoring the six winning recipes.

DOM International Ltd. was the Title Sponsor for Sushi Champion 2015.

There were about 200 submissions, but six Chefs stood out, impressing the judges with their unique and flavourful recipes.
