Coal Import In India To Experience A Remarkable Market Impact

Coal as a natural resource has dominated a myriad range of market avenues since many decades due to its easy availability and comparatively low price range, but taking the current conditions into account.

As per the recent industrial statistics and the current technical evidences allied to coal industries, it has been found that the future of this business is truly in shaky hands with prices of import varieties already set to soar sky-high.

The introduction of latest custom duties and provision of stricter government rules and regulations allied to coal import; in addition to supply of poor quality domestic varieties of this black-diamond are the key reasons for this unpredictable price rise.

It can be seen that coal import in India has taken an amplified graph with the implication of various industries that are either directly or indirectly associated with the need of this black resource for their manufacturing process.

Also, the fact that most of the countries that were once listed as the top-line coal importers are slowly taking a downward profile in terms of rendering the supply of purest quality black-coal varieties at prices that easily gained entry to the pockets of even a middle-class company.

Though, coal is widely associated with production of power and electricity, as they form its largest consumers; but apart from these industries, it has also been found to contribute significantly to varied production companies namely cement industries, paper industries, ceramic industries, steel industries, textile industries, sugar industries and many more.

The consistent rise in demand-supply hitch, improved production, successive alleviation in the workforce coupled with levy of taxes on the importation may have a radical impact on the services related to coal import in India and the relevant industrial arena.

While there have been many significant evidences that raised fumes about the increase in tax charges, demand-supply gap and many more issues allied to coal supply and import, but most of the suppliers have said that no clear indication in this aspect has been reported to them.

"Our nation has one of the largest coal reserves in the world and it undoubtedly contributes to major industrial needs of the nation, tough import of coal acts as a comparative measure to fulfil our client's demands and needs," said Ashok Maheshwari, one of the partners of Maheshwarifuel; a leading Mumbai-based company associated with supply of coal to the local as well as national level.

He also added that with current legal obligations coal import in India will surely experience a noteworthy impact on the overall business prospects but, the comparative increase in demand may fill the gap to a certain extent.
