Couplemate Trailer Parts Release New Bearing Protectors

Clear Lense bearing protectors are all the rage with Australian OEMs. At the Sydney and Melbourne Boat shows over 60% of the boat trailers were running the new Durahub clear lense bearing protector. The Durahub runs either grease or oil lubricants

The Science: Immercing hot trailer hubs in cold water creates contraction in the bearing cavity. When contraction occurs water is drawn in to the bearing cavity.

Worn bearings and even worn stub axle journals are a result of water ingress into the bearing cavity. Water entry into hubs is generally through the back seal is a common problem.

Bearing protectors with 3psi pressure (cold) release that pressure when the hub is heated up during normal highway driving. Cold pressurisation of the hub and heating of the bearings forces grease out of the back seal on the highway.

Durahub has invented a device, almost defying science. This device is a rubber grommet or membrane that is pulled in/out of the bearing cavity when contraction/expansion occurs . The grommet then resumes it shaped when ambient temperature is returns.

The Durahub bearing protector has a clear lense exposing any contamination in the bearing cavity. Grease or even oil is an acceptable lubricant.

The big advantage of the Durahub clear lense bearing protector is the ability to instantly see contaminents.

Larger rigs can now run oil filled hubs just like the big truck hubs. Not only are the Durahub's keeping the water out but they are running cooler in the oil.

It is not often you can save money on boat accessories.

Durahub's clear lense bearing protectors were designed for boat owners and they will save you money.
