Desert Hot Springs, CA On April 24, 2010, Earth Day @Cabot's will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original Earth Day: a worldwide nonpartisan day of activism held on behalf of our planet. To honor this important anniversary, we will bring together locally elected officials, educators, artists, entertainers, and interested people from across the Coachella Valley to take part in an exchange of concepts and camaraderie.

While great strides have been made in the pursuit of conservation and sustainability, much more has yet to be done. Although climate change presents the greatest challenge of our time, it also presents the greatest opportunity - a challenge that spurs an unprecedented opportunity to build a healthy, prosperous, clean energy economy, now and for the future. This Earth Day event is about celebrating those opportunities and bringing about course-changing, positive environmental action on a local level -- bridging borders, politics, policies, and ideologies.

Earth Day @ Cabot's Festival takes place at the beautiful outdoor setting of Cabot's Pueblo Museum (67-616 E. Desert View Avenue in Desert Hot Springs, CA 92240, 9:00am to 6:00pm). We welcome our attendees to a magnificent day filled with entertainment, education, and enlightenment. The combination of great music, empowering speakers, environmental, humanitarian and non-profit groups, kids' activities, and a delicious food court make for an earth-friendly experience sure to be inspiring and enjoyable for all.

Fun activities for the entire family include:
• Opening ceremony and Earth Blessing by Eneke-Alish Huaute, wife of Grandfather Semu Huaute
• Live animals from The Living Desert
• Live Butterfly Interactive
• Water Games
• Face Painting
• Environmental Art Display and awards ceremony by CREEC Network
• Celebration of Music
• Fresh produce from Coachella Home Grown!

Cabot's Old Indian Pueblo is a unique Hopi-inspired multi-level pueblo, is one of the most fantastic structures in Southern California and may be the oldest green museum in America. Cabot Yerxa -- artist, early Native American rights activist, Klondike gold rusher, theosophist, and homesteader built the Pueblo -- in what is now Desert Hot Springs. In 1913, Yerxa was the first non-Native American person to discover what has since become world famous geo-thermal mineral waters.

The museum grounds, including a picnic area, are beautifully landscaped with native plants and are home to many rustic period items, including early 1900's tools, machinery and house goods.

Please come join us on this historic day, and be a part of making this our most memorable Earth Day ever. For more details, please see our web site: cabotsearthday.org
