Europeanplates.com Expands Operations In The Seattle Area Plus Q&A

Europeanplates Group LLC which runs and operates various online and retail store fronts have recently moved into it new larger facility in the Seattle area.

Ever see a German car with the long rectangle license plate; well chances are it came from Europeanplates.com an ecommerce site who specializes in European style license plates. In June 2010 a lease was signed on Europeanplates Groups new facility which is still being built to specifications for Europeanplates various businesses.

Tyler Edmondson, CEO of Europeanplates Group LLC who operates the Europeanplates.com website comments with a Q&A about the recent move, business and European cars.

Q: Why the move into a new shop?

A: In the last year we have purchased nearly all the equipment to create our license plates, decals and signs. With the recent asset purchases of another European license plate company and there equipment we simple did not have enough room.

Q: How to you see this moving increasing business?

A: The move was done out of necessity; the equipment we purchased is fairly large and we had no room at the old shop. The equipment purchase will certainly speed up our shipping times which have always been an issue with our company.

Q: Shipping times have always been an issue with your company?

A: Yes, for 9 years we did what most companies who sell these items do; which is to buy them from a wholesale shop and wait until they arrive or ship to the customer. Since we have always sold seals and frames with our plates these orders would be sent to us, checked and then sent out as a package. Not very effective and any delays would trickle down to the end customer.

Q: How do you see the new equipment solving this issue?

A: We have two complete plate stamping set ups; with this we have a separate line for Europeanplates.com while using the other set up for wholesale and club orders. We are still working to improve this set up but since the move we have increased our daily production output and see it improving daily. On top of this we have added a quick ship option allowing the anxious customer to pay a nominal fee to have the order sent out in less then 48 hours. The fee with the order is still less then most of our competitors normal price and of course if you can wait the 4 weeks for an order the discount is sizable. The best thing about having our own equipment is to confirm the quality of the items and assuring the order is correct before sending it out.

Q: This equipment is rare in the US?

A: To our knowledge there is only one other company with the machines we have. This certainly sets us apart and gives us some stability unlike before where if there was ever a supply issue we would have to wait for product. The equipment is German made and the exact equipment used in Germany to make German plates. The blanks we use are also imported monthly from Germany; beside the seals there is absolutely no difference in our plates from what you would see in Germany.

Q: So what got you into this business?

A: I have always been into cars and mainly European cars. The items we sell are in my opinion one of the best accessories for your automobile or garage.

Q: So how are these products used; you mentioned garage?

A: Well for the most part our customers use these for the front of there car at show to get that European look. However we have sold these to plate collectors, marketing companies, movie prop houses, designers as well to the average person who does not care about cars but loves to travel.

Q: Where can additional info about your company be found?

A: www.europeanplates.com or www.europeanplatesgroup.com
