Fore Launches Newly Revamped Part-time Management Programme

Unique features like MDPs and Campus Placement integrated into the offerring for the 22nd WMG Batch

On the 11th of July, one of the most prestigious part-time PGDM courses in the country - FORE's Working Managers Group or WMG programme - inducted its 22nd batch. FORE's three-year WMG programme is widely regarded among one of the oldest and most successful part-time PGDMs in the country. The 22nd batch will be taken through a completely transformed curriculum this year. With detailed inputs from industry and alumni, FORE School of Management's Part-time PGDM now boasts of USPs like 'Most Relevant Curriculum', 'Conditional Placement Support', 'Super Specialization' and certification for customized MDPs.

"The evening programme for Batch 22 of WMG has undergone a lot of changes," remarked Dr. Jitendra K. Das, Director, FORE School of Management, while welcoming the new joiners of WMG-22. "This is in keeping with the changing times, while maintaining industry requirements. This is a full-fledged degree, equivalent to your Masters degree topped with a significant value in industry. As working professionals and students, you certainly have other responsibilities and priorities as well. Your family and your job hold high priority and then there is also your PGDM to take care of. How do you cope in such a situation? In such situations, students often show a tendency to stop taking their PGDM seriously, so how do we ensure that you do not do that? We do not give you the choice to take it lightly. We will constantly drive you towards your goal."

While retaining the essence of conceptual understanding, management skills improvement, and networking with fellow executives, the new WMG programme structure aims to empower participants with a specialized skill of their choice. Over the three years, students can choose from one out of the four certificate courses offered, delivered by the best in the field. These include Certification in Digital Marketing, Certification in SAP, Certification in Six Sigma, and Certification in Training & Development. Under the brand new WMG structure, students will have access to five days of MDPs; the choice of MDP will be entirely as per an individual's area of interest. FORE's formidable MDPs are credited with professionalizing management education in India. As of this year, the Placement Cell will be arranging for conditional placement support to those students who meet the academic criteria. This makes FORE unique as the first management institute to include such a framework within its part-time PGDM structure.

"Most of our classes are supposed to be attractive," said Dr. Das, while outlining the thought behind this completely revamped WMG programme. "This is a management course, so anything that is taught here should have business relevance. If it is not relevant, you should not take it. Your time is precious and you must spend your time wisely in the class. How? You should know the content that is to be discussed. We give you your course outline right in the beginning. Read it and come and ask as many questions as you have. Unless you ask, your professors will stick to their mandate. With your experience, you should be the seekers. You already know a lot - share it with everyone. Maximize your learning and do not worry about your grades. Help us achieve what is good for you."

Over the last 22 years, WMG has gained favour with professionals since it is located in the heart of New Delhi. FORE School of Management is within 30 minutes' driving distance from the IGI airport, and it takes the same amount of time to get there from New Delhi railway station as well. The FORE campus is well connected by metro and road. Further, a convenient timetable without disruption to the students' professional and personal lives has also made the WMG course a popular choice for professionals. The WMG student attends classes on Thursday and Friday evenings (after work), and on Saturday after lunch. With so much thought going into the programme, it's no surprise that WMG students consistently register the highest attendance.
