Motorbike Tours release 2010 Brochure

Suzy Tingle enjoyed a working holiday, when she took her bike on tour with Motorbike Tours. Whilst there, she asked the founder of the company about the recently released 2010 brochure and the upcoming tours.

Motorbike Tours have released their new 2010 brochure, so I went to see Alan, the founder of the company, to ask him about the new look tours. Usually, we arrange to meet in a cafe, but this time I was on the spot, having taken the plunge and joined a group of happy bikers on a Spanish tour.

So as I, and a few other interested bikers, gathered around Alan's laptop to view the brochure, the thing that first struck me, was the presentation of the brochure, which was really professional looking. It was immediately obvious that a lot of thought had gone into producing the publication.

Looking at the tours, I noticed a departure from the 2009 format, with the introduction of 'Bungalow' based accommodation on campsites. I asked Alan, what the thinking was behind this.
'We decided', he said, 'that bungalow accommodation was an attractive proposition for a lot people. Not everyone wants to eat in a restaurant every night, or buy a breakfast every day. The bungalows are just like hotel rooms, but have the added advantage of kitchen facilities. It's up to the individual, if they want to use them or not, but I for one, am thankful for the chance to make a cup of tea just when I want one; I like my tea you know.'
'But what about the people who like hotels?' I asked.
'The Spanish Heartland Tour is still hotel based, but like I said, the bungalows are hotel rooms with extras. Another advantage is being able to park your bike right outside the door.'

I was curious as to why the Heartland Tour went in August, whilst the Andalucia Tours and the Valle del Jerte Tours went in May, June and September.
'It's to do with the weather,' Alan informed me. 'August in the south of Spain is very hot, but the weather in Soria, where the Heartland Tour takes place, is just perfect. It's sunny and warm, but not unpleasantly hot. May and September are the best months in Andalucia, so that's when we go. The Valle del Jerte Tour is based in Extremadura and goes in June and September. I believe, these are the best times to be in that area, so that's what determined the timetable.'

'So which is your favourite tour?' I asked.
'Ah, that's not really fair Suzy, is it? The three tours are different in their own way. The Andalucia Tour to start with, is a ten night tour, while the other two are seven nighters. Andalucia has mountains, sea and plains and we visit some great places, like the Alhambra Palace and the Wolf Park in Antequera. The Heartland Tour has mountains, pine trees and fantastic biking roads. The Monasterio de Piedra and the Puerto Piqueras are a highlight of that tour. The Valle del Jerte Tour is based between three national Parks, and has the advantage of a visit to the biggest and best Motorcycle Museum in Spain, so you can see, it's difficult to choose between them. It's like asking a mother, which is her favourite child. She may have one, but she's not going to tell you, is she?'

'What about the girls?' I asked, 'I notice there are quite a few ladies on this tour. Is this normal?
'At first, we didn't get many female riders, but as the word has spread about the relaxed atmosphere we try to nurture, more and more ladies are coming along. I think it's great. It really makes for a well balanced, happy group.'
It was soon time to put away the computer and hit the road again, so if you want to see what it's like for yourself, you'll have to go to the website and download the brochure. I think you'll be well impressed.
