New Online Pet Gift Store Features Pet Gifts for Pet Lovers

Online, April 4, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Pet Gift Online, http://petgiftonline.com, a new online pet gift store features pet gifts for people. Products include hand stamped pet gift coasters and pet gift ornaments featuring dog silhouette, cat silhouette, and horse silhouette designs developed from professional silhouette artist Lena Bengston's designs. Dog lovers, cat lovers, and horse lovers will find popular dog breeds, cat breeds and horse breeds in this pet products store. There are 170 different silhouette designs for ornaments, primarily AKC dog breeds.

Currently the store offers 18 silhouette designs of coasters but plans to expand based on customer demand.

The online retail store, managed and owned by Teena Stewart, developed as an off shoot of artist Lena Bengston's people silhouette business.

Bengston has been in business since the 1970s working primarily on the East Coast with department stores, small retail chains and special events. With the growing popularity of pets, more and more people began asking for silhouettes of their pets. Bengston arrived at the idea of designing pet silhouettes that would fit inside clear glass ornaments. She spent one entire summer hand cutting silhouettes of dog breeds, cats breeds and horse breeds. The ornaments were well received and her secondary business, My Pet Silhouette, http://mypetsilhouette.net, a wholesale pet silhouette gift business featuring the ornaments targeted to retailers, animal rescue groups and other pet-related organizations, was born.

With Bengston always on the road working at different retail events, she found it difficult to manage both the people and pet silhouette business. When Stewart, also an artist, came on board to help her manage, Stewart recognized the business's potential to grow into something more substantial with other silhouette-related products and become a year-round business. Stewart added pet silhouette coasters based on the same silhouette designs.

With so many people wanting to buy retail, Stewart saw the online selling potential and the retail store concept was hatched. Stewart hopes to develop future products based on the same pet silhouette designs which may include pet silhouette jewelry.
