Simi Reizen Youth Zomerkampen Expands to Two Locations

Online, April 5, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Known world-wide for its summer survival camps for youth and young adults, Simi Reizen has expanded to include two rugged and naturally beautiful European spots for their latest youth survival zomerkampen. Already experienced with years of survival challenges in the Belgian Ardennes, the youth camp specialists have begun an even more challenging camp in the Czech Republic. While 12-15 year olds are welcome at either camp, the new challenge is also available at heightened difficulty to a bit more mature group aged 16-19 years old.

As they have been for years, the survival challenges facing the youth in the Ardennes are designed to not only develop friendships and trust but also build character. The challenges include such activities as archery, death (zip) lining, a night drop, a mud tour through the muddiest trails the Ardennes have to offer (a nice shower follows the tour!) and the biggest challenge of them all: The Simi Survival Challenge. The Czech Republic offers a different variety of survival challenges a bit more difficult than those in the Ardennes but equally as rewarding. The rugged terrain of the Czech countryside proves a challenge to even the most experienced rock climber and mountain bike enthusiast. The youths participating in the zomerkampen at this location will find their days and nights filled with the most challenging activities of their lives. Everything from a canoe trip, canyon hikes and an amazing mountain bike tour to climb via ferrata to the top of the tallest rock in all of Europe, to rappelling, cave exploration and a compass/map hike designed to hone direction and map reading skills are a just a few of the activities sure to challenge the strongest and willful of young people.

Zomerkampen at a Simi Reizen camp is a challenge cut out for any healthy and strong-willed young people with a taste for nature and a desire to learn the skills of survival without modern technologies and the cushy life to which most of us have become accustomed. While modern conveniences are available at both camp sites, campers are restricted from their use throughout most of their time at the zomerkampen. Although evenings at the camps are aimed towards interaction and building relationships, one evening of the five day challenge is dedicated to a movie marathon and another to the Simi Reizen camp's own variety of "Fear Factor" challenges.
