A factory-installed, gaseous-fuel prep package including hardened valves, valve seats, pistons, and rings will arrive with the 2014 F-150's available 3.7-liter V6 engine, so the driver may choose to operate on either natural gas or gasoline through separate fuel systems. This package will grant the 2014 F-150 more than 750 miles per tank of gas, depending on chosen tank size.

The typical Ford F-150 offers drivers an average of 23 mpg on the highway. Currently CNG sells for an average price of $2.11 per gallon of gasoline equivalent, and can be purchased for as little as $1 in some areas of the country, while the average cost of unleaded regular fuel is on average nearly $3.66 per gallon.

Ford has seen a steady trend in growth as customers have responded to their new green technology with enthusiasm.
